UNAIR Accounting Department held the 4th Series of Guest Lecture Series online via zoom meeting on Tuesday, 12 April 2022 with the topic “A Step-By-Step Approach to Conducting Research in Not-for-Profit Organizations”. This guest lecture presented David Gilchrist from the University of Western Australia, Australia and moderated by Yulliana Ekaningrum who is a UNAIR Accounting Lecturer. The event took place from 10.00 – 11.30 WIB and was attended by approximately 150 participants from students, academics and practitioners.
In this event, Prof. David Gilchrist discusses 2 important topics, the first is the structure of writing or research templates for non-profit organizations. Second, make observations for the development of research programs. In writing research on non-profit organizations, the first thing to do is to determine the research questions as the foundation of research writing such as literature reviews (literature review), replicate experiments (what is different and the same from previous research), run new experiment (run a new research programme), inquire with the relevant industry sector, and consider research programmes. These two methods can be selected through several considerations such as the selected population, population access, the nature of the research question.
