Organizationally, the Accounting Department is one of the organizational units under the Faculty of Economics and Business, which was formerly the Accounting Department. The change in the status of Airlangga University to become a Legal Entity State University (PTN-BH), has the consequence of changing the structure of various Airlangga University work units, including the position of the Accounting Department which currently oversees accounting education programs at various levels. Dynamic changes in the global environment have consequences for complex changes in various aspects of life. As an educational institution, the Department of Accounting, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Airlangga cannot escape the demands of these changes. Therefore, the role of the educational process is the main key to creating a continuous improvement process. Thus, this provides a logical consequence for the commitment to carry out a sustainable education process.
We are a favorite choice for prospective students at various levels of accounting education from undergraduate to doctoral programs. The Department of Accounting houses three study programs: the Accounting Undergraduate Study Program, the Accounting Masters Program, and the Accounting Science Doctoral Program. The Department of Accounting has approximately 50 full-time teaching staff, with 68 percent having doctorates and 18,37 percent being Professors. With UNAIR's position in the first cluster among universities, the Accounting S1 Study Program has been certified by AUN-QA and three study programs have been accredited ABEST21 since March 2020.
The Department of Accounting is committed to improving the quality of Indonesian education, especially in the field of Accounting through the provision of quality education, research and community service and following the demands of the times. The Accounting Department actively collaborates with academics, practitioners, universities, and industry both domestically and abroad through guest lectures, seminars/webinars, research collaborations, internships, dual degrees, exchanges, and so on.
