The Accounting Department of Airlangga University and KU Leuven are holding an online seminar on Wednesday 8 February 2023 from 10 - 12 am Belgian Time (4 - 6 pm Surabaya Time).
In the first session, students were given 10 minutes for presentations, 10 minutes for discussion and 10 minutes for questions from the audience.
Presentation of the first paper on the topic “Commitment and Responsibilities of Government Auditors in Detecting Fraud: The Role of Religiosity”, explained by Ni Nyoman Sri Rahayu Damayanti (Airlangga University). One of the points discussed by Rahayu Damayanti was the task of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia in conducting an audit of the management and accountability for the use of the State Budget, namely by conducting an audit with a specific purpose as an investigative examination if indications of fraud were found.
The second paper presentation discussed the topic “Do Sustainability and Corporate Governance Encourage Financial Performance of Indonesian Firms?” explained by Arumega Zarefar (Airlangga University). This topic examines the effect of Corporate Governance Sustainability Disclosures on Company Performance. The urgency of this topic is that the quality aspect in research is still limited and research on sustainability quality is insufficient.
The presentation of the third paper on the topic "The intention of SMEs to use accounting software in the post Covid-19 pandemic” explained by Mirza Maulinarhadi (Airlangga University). The discussion regarding the rapid progress of information technology which has an impact on increasingly complex system integration and online transactions requires facilities to support recording and reporting of integrated business transactions, especially for MSMEs.
In the second session, Prof. Ann Gaeremynck from KU Leuven explains how to deal with reviewer comments on reports.
The Joint Seminar on the Faculty of Economics and Business, Airlangga University with KU Leuven was opened to the public and was packaged in an interesting discussion with enthusiastic participants who were good at providing constructive input.
